I want to talk about how to play the D minor scale on the bass guitar. We can think about D minor as D major and lower the third note, the sixth note and the seventh note of the scale and a lot of that can be a lot of information when we're just trying to play music. It can be easier to think about D minor as F major starting on the sixth note of the scale, which is a D. So, let's refresh ourselves on the F major scale. We'll start with F, third fret of the D string. Open G, A on second fret, B flat at the third fret, C at the fifth fret, D at the seventh fret, E on the ninth fret and F at the tenth fret. If we go back down two notes to our sixth note of the scale, we get to D. And then, if we play those same notes from our F major scale starting on D, we can get our D minor scale. This is what the D minor scale sounds like.
