The Fall of the Himyarite Kingdom: After the Jewish king Dhu-Nuwas persecuted Christians in Yemen, the Christian Abyssinian army, supported by the Byzantine Empire, invaded Yemen around 525 AD, ending the Himyarite rule and establishing Abyssinian control. 2. Abrahah's Rise to Power: Abrahah, one of the Abyssinian commanders, became the ruler of Yemen after a duel with his fellow commander, Aryat. He aimed to spread Christianity across the Arab lands and to control the lucrative trade routes dominated by the Quraish in Makkah. 3.
