Toxicology is a branch of science or medicine which deals with properties, action, lethal dose, toxicity detection and elimination of poison and it’s sign, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment and autopsy finding of poisoning cases.

Toxicology – Ancient Greek word
Toxicosis – poisonous
Forensic toxicology – Deals with the legal procedures, Medical and legal procedure of death using drug or poison.


They are of three types - 1. corrosive 2. irritant 3. systamic and their sub types along with the examples.
