How to bleed your radiators without a key | BOXT Boilers

If your radiators aren't heating
If your radiators aren't heating up properly, or the top of the radiators are cold to touch, then it could be time to bleed your radiators.
Bleeding the radiators without a radiator key is a quick and easy task. All you are going to need are two things:
1. An old cloth to catch any escaping water.
2. And something to open the bleed valve.
Turn the heating off and make sure the radiators are cold before bleeding the radiators.
For radiators with a slotted bleed screw, try using a flathead screwdriver, spanner, allen key, or a set of pliers.
Holding the cloth underneath the valve and insert the key alternative into the valve, and turn slowly anti-clockwise - until air starts escaping from the small vent hole, then, when you see water start to escape, turn it clockwise to re-tighten the valve.
When you’re done, check the water pressure on the boiler because bleeding your radiators can affect the water pressure – it should read between 1 to 1.5 bar.
