Ngaro noa te pouri kaua e mau riri - Dont hold any anger
Anei ano he ra - for this is another day

Maranga mai e te iwi - Rise up all of you
O nga hapu Ngapuhi - of the sub tribes of Ngapuhi
Kia mau kia u kia pupuri ai - and hold firmly and securly forever
Ki nga akoranga nui - to the great teachings

Takahia te ao ka kitea te iwi - As you travel the world it will be seen by everyone
E tu tangata mai tatou nga uri o ratou - That we are people that stand proud, we the descendnts of those
Kua mene ki te po - lost in the night
Tenei te mihi ki nga kaiawhina e - This is the thanks we give to you
Ki nga whaea nga matua anei ra ko nga hua - To our aunts and uncles, here we are, the fruit of your labour
