The United States Army paratroopers
The United States Army paratroopers conducted a training exercise in Germany. The U.S.-German military relationship has for many decades been informed and shaped by the cooperation between these two countries within the NATO framework. Germany and the United States are joint NATO members. Both nations have cooperated closely in the War on Terror, for which Germany provided more troops than any other nation. Germany hosts the headquarters of the US Africa Command and the Ramstein Air Base, a U.S. Air Force base.
In this video, U.S. Army paratroopers fire M119A3 and M777A2 Howitzers and execute combat drills during a field artillery live-fire exercise. This training is part of Exercise Bayonet Ready 22 at the Joint Multinational Training Center in the Grafenwoehr Training Area, Germany from Oct. 23 to 25, 2021.
Exercise Bayonet Ready 22 is a directive of the United States Army Southern European Task Force - Africa being conducted by 7th Army Training Command and the 173rd Airborne Brigade at the Joint Multinational Readiness Center in the Hohenfels Training Area, Germany from 17 to 30 Oct. 2021.
