As well as a sheet of watercolour paper, all you need is the following limited palette, a No. 10 and No. 7 round synthetic brush, a script liner or rigger and a large brush for example a ProArt Hake.

I suggest for beginners an inexpensive round brush such as the Princeton Snap Brush, which is a decent starter brush and comes in many shapes and sizes at a low price.
