Thanks to the cloud, we can access almost anything from almost anywhere. Watch to learn about the different types of cloud storage and how it's used. Cloud storage is a service model that allows data to be backed up, managed, and accessed remotely -- meaning it doesn't have to be on your physical device to get to it. Cloud data storage is usually paid for on a monthly rate based on amount of storage used. While commercial users have probably used services like Dropbox or Google Drive for storing documents in the cloud, businesses use cloud storage for data backup, disaster recovery, archiving, and DevOps projects. The three main cloud based storage models are public, private, and hybrid. Private storage offers more reliability and security compared to public cloud storage, while hybrid is a mix of the two.
