Hey! So, you've seen that garter stitch and stockinette stitch are both used in knitting, but what's the difference?

Garter stitch is what you get when you knit every stitch in a row on the right-side rows, then purl all stitches on wrong-side rows. It's got a lot of squish, and it looks great in shawls and accessories.

Stockinette is created by knitting every stitch on right-side rows and purling every stitch on wrong-side rows. It has less squish than garter stitch, but works best for color work.
