Here's the actual repair work done to fix the Penobscot-style bow. Overall the process was simple - I sawed the other limb off at the same point where the first limb broke. I then made plugs of 1/2" schedule 40 PVC pipe, formed them to fit the handle section and limb section, secured them with some glue, and used them to attach the limbs to the handle once more. Once complete, I deflexed the limbs slightly to take stress off the center portion where it broke.
That's about it! The bow is usable, drawing about 60 pounds, and I'm dying to get out and try it.
