It explains how a tube diode is constructed and how it works. The diode is Emmi Animal T electrons from a heated cathode. When the cathode provides an anode that is more positive than the cathode, then the negative electrons are attracted by the anode and a current flows. If the anode is more negative than the cathode stumble the negative electrons to the anode, no current flows and the free electrons emerging from the cathode through the heating accumulate near the cathode. The cathode is even slightly cooled by a flow of electrons.
