Although it feels great to use, the Patriot simply doesn't have the firepower to overwhelm Terminids like the emancipator does. It's really good at dealing with waves of chaff, but so is the flamethrower (a video of which you can find here: FLAM-40 Flamethrower - The Destructio... ).
