Describes the index of refraction and show how to calculate  the index of refraction.

The index of refraction (n) of a material is a dimensionless number that describes how fast light travels through the material. It can be seen as the factor by which the speed and the wavelength of light are reduced with respect to their values in a vacuum.
The index of refraction is calculated as n = c / v. Where c is the speed of light in a vacuum (3.00 x 10^8 m/s) and v is the velocity of light in the material. For example, the index of refraction for water is 1.33, this means that travels slower in water then in a vacuum.
