There are much cheaper options for the AC Adapter + DC Coupler from 3rd party companies, but I would proceed with caution as they will void your warranty if there are any issues, and I wouldn't suggest risking a ~$1300 camera with a 25 dollar device.

Today I will be comparing your 2 options for using your Canon 90D or similar camera as a webcam. This should also work for the Canon 80D, and any other EOS cameras that the Capture Utility Software supports. I'm overall pretty happy with the picture from the USB, but if you want to upgrade, you can definitely notice an improvement with a capture card.
