Harmony/Overview: The harmony of the composition is very evocative and unconventional. Although it consists of many unexpected turns, it revolves primarily around the key of Eb Major. The irregularity of having 9 bar sections also helps in providing the composition with a distinct character.

Recordings: This song has been recorded over 80 times. The first recording comes from Wayne Shorter's 1966 release Speak No Evil. It remains a refreshingly modern ballad in the repertoire and continues to be performed and recorded to this day.
