Woody Lovell opened an old-fashioned, traditional barbershop in Los Angeles to welcome gentlemen to manhood. He considers Square a reliable partner, standing right by his side. Square lets him take payments easily and manage all his barbers’ appointments. Square is there to help him grow his business.

“Square has been a big part of helping The Barbershop Club go to the next level.”
– Woody Lovell, The Barbershop Club

“The Barbershop Club is a way of life. It’s something that I grew up in as a young boy back in Kansas City spending weekends with my grandfather in the barbershop. As I grew up as a man, I wouldn’t leave the house without having my shoes shined, without having a fresh shave. I kinda stood out. But it was in a good way. People would take me serious. I said, ‘You know what, I could be on to something here.’ So, I just re-created the barbershop that I grew up in, an old-fashioned barbershop, playing blues and jazz all day.

“From the very first day we were introduced to Square, I knew that we had something special. They’re innovative. They’re ahead of the competition.

“We have a saying here, ‘We like everything old-school but our technology.’ And Square has helped us bring the old and the new together by offering online booking. When the Appointments option came onboard, we immediately, first-year, saved over $60,000. We were able to integrate it into our existing website, our existing online store. If a guy’s got a smartphone, he can log on and set up an appointment.

“Square has been a big part of helping The Barbershop Club go to the next level. I am a third-generation barber. It’s what I know and what I love.”
