Learn Spanish: Meals in Spain (basic level).

In this video from https://www.tuescueladeespanol.es/ I explain what are the usual meal times in Spain, which are usually done much later than in other countries, and what is eaten in them.

First, I analyze the three main meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Breakfast is usually a small meal that is taken between 7 and 9 in the morning. Most Spaniards have coffee and / or milk breakfast, accompanied by toast with olive oil or with jam and butter, for pastries or cookies, and also for fruit and juices.

Lunch is the most important meal of the day in Spain. Most Spaniards eat between 2 pm and 3 pm. From Monday to Friday, in large cities many people eat in restaurants. The most typical menu consists of three dishes: first, second and dessert.

And dinner usually includes less food than lunch. The usual schedule is between 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Normally it only has a light main course and a dessert.

In addition, there are two other secondary meals that only some people have: 'almuerzo' in the middle of the morning and 'merienda' in the afternoon.
