Rice and wheat are cereals, moong and lentils are pulses | Plant physiology | Biology

This video describes one way of distinguishing between foods that originate as plant seeds. Rice, wheat are monocotyledonous grasses with a large number of seeds growing on a single stalk and we call them cereals , while moong and lentils are of dicotyledonous pulses that have only one to twelve seeds per pod and we call them pulses.
