Singer-songwriter Abby Lyons is a
Singer-songwriter Abby Lyons is a classically trained musician who wrote her first song at the age of 12. After toiling for five years on YouTube, she was recently commissioned to perform on the soundtrack for The Wheel Of Time, an Amazon Prime Original TV show.
We spoke after the L.A. International Ukulele Festival and she opened up to me about all sorts of fascinating stuff including how she got the opportunity to perform on the soundtrack for an Amazon show, recording music in her closet during the pandemic, navigating the choppy waters of social media, and working for Fender.
We also talk about a conversation we had at NAMM a few years ago that sent me into the depths of existential despair - although it turns out that I may have misremembered some of what she said!
