Pakistani cricketer Mohammad Amir has expressed his gratitude to Punjab Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz, for her intervention in a recent incident involving his family during a Pakistan Super League (PSL) match.
Earlier, Amir had publicly accused the Deputy Commissioner of Multan of mistreating his family members at the stadium. He claimed that the official, acting with a sense of entitlement, "kicked them out" without justification.
Following his tweet, Chief Minister Nawaz reportedly contacted Amir to address the situation. In a subsequent tweet, Amir expressed his appreciation, stating, “All misunderstanding has been cleared by the Deputy Commissioner Multan himself. I sincerely appreciate it and extend my best wishes to you as you embark on your new journey.”
I am highly grateful for the chief minister's @MaryamNSharif attention to my matter and for taking out the precious time to call me. All misunderstanding has been cleared by Deputy Commissioner Multan himself , I sincerely appreciate it and extend my best wishes to you as you.
Former cricketer Mohammad Amir has called for action from the newly elected Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, regarding an incident of alleged misbehavior towards family members during the ninth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
In a tweet posted on the social networking site X (Twitter), Quetta Gladiators fast bowler Muhammad Amir accused the Deputy Commissioner of Multan of mistreating his family during the match. Amir claimed that the official arrogantly asserted ownership of the ground and unjustifiably expelled them during the event, denouncing such abuse of power in uniform as intolerable.
This incident unfolded during a PSL match on February 26th, when the families of Mohammad Amir, Umar Amin, and Moin Khan were allegedly removed from the players' box by district administration officials.
The Quetta Gladiators' players and management strongly condemned the incident, demanding action from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) against such behavior.
Amir, who is representing Quetta Gladiators this season, emphasized the need for accountability and respect for players' families during matches. He previously played for Karachi Kings for eight seasons before joining Quetta Gladiators.
