The Role of a Recruitment Consultant
The role of a recruiter can vary from one company to another; for example you could join a company as an Account Manager, Resourcer, Researcher or what is often known as 360 Recruitment Consultant.
In this video, we will give you an example of what a 360 recruitment consultant typically does. The term 360 usually means that you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the recruitment process from start to finish.
This will involve generating vacancies from new or existing clients, obtaining a job specification from them -- so, really understanding the specifics of their hiring requirements. Then you move on to negotiating terms of business.
Your next task is to go out and actually source and assess potentially suitable candidates that you could introduce to your client. You can find candidates through advertising, headhunting, networking or recommendation and referrals.
Then you move on to manage the interview process. This will entail arranging the interviews, helping candidates prepare for them, discussing interview feedback and liaising with candidates and clients throughout the process.
Then you'll be negotiating job offers and ultimately closing deals. Following successful placement of a candidate you'll want to keep in touch with them, in some cases candidates can even become clients."
