Description:
This is the first Jaguar that I've ever laid my hands on. I can't say that it is really the "best" Jaguar to start with since the pickup layout and controls are COMPLETELY different from a regular Fender Jag.
The Fender VINTERA® '60S JAGUAR® MODIFIED HH was released in 2019. The Vintera line up replaced the old MiM Classic series. This updated Jaguar features Fender's "Atomic" Humbuckers instead of the traditional single coil pickups of a Jag. The two rollers act as a control for coil splits and the top switch is a killswitch. The other 3 control each pickup, and the bottom one is for a tone cut.
These have Alder bodies with maple necks and Pau ferro fretboards.
At a retail price of $1149.99 - they seem rather overpriced new ... however, these are very versatile guitars and I would suggest them!
