Late October can be one of the best times to call in a buck, and everyone has their own techniques. Bill weighs in on his strategies for getting bucks into range. Skip Sligh also has success calling at this time, and it works to perfection when a giant deer comes running to the tree, one that he has been hunting all season. Finally, Max Wierda, one of our interns that just got his residency, calls to a buck on public land and is able to wrap his tag around his first bow buck in Iowa. Both Skip’s hunt and Max’s hunt are examples of how to call deer during the early phases of the rut.
