This is the Full Yogic Breath practice for intermediate students with inhale vs exhale ratio 6:12. We call it Dirga Pranayama in yoga, meaning "deep" or "extended" life energy control where you use low, middle and high breathing types simultaneously. During this practice you will learn how to engage all your respiratory muscles required for full lung breathing: diaphragm, intercostal, neck and shoulders muscles. It is mandatory to be able to use all three respiration techniques perfectly before you can advance to other pranayama practices.

This must be practiced everyday, or even better twice daily for a few weeks. Once comfortable, increase the proportion to 7:14, 8:16, 9:18 and so on.

After a couple of weeks you will notice that your energy level is higher, mind clearer, you feel calmer and all your respiratory muscles will be engaged even during off practice time, becoming a habit.
