12 weeks ago, I had barely sat on a bike properly for any length of time. After a summer of spinning around in Spain, and with an upcoming duathlon on the horizon, I needed to regain my bike fitness. But, I'm short on time and still committed to running, so how could I rebuild my FTP (functional threshold power) back up to my previous best of 272 watts in 2019?

The FTP test is 20 minutes of suffering and pain and the number produced gives you an idea of what you could sustain for about an hour. It's a great way to test your cycling fitness and build a training plan to make steady improvements.

So, 12 weeks completed and I sat on the turbo and went for it. How close, if at all, would I get to my target power of 272?
