How much power does the 2021 Kawasaki Z H2 produce? We place Team Green’s wicked supercharged naked on the Cycle World dyno to find out.

The 2021 Kawasaki Z H2 SE is an exercise of Team Green’s engineering capabilities. Combine a ripping literbike powerplant with a supercharger and sophisticated electronics and what you have is a naked bike worthy of a seriously good time.

It’s powered by a 998cc DOHC inline-four engine and enhanced with a supercharger, as originally seen in Kawasaki’s H2 and H2R hyperbikes. To keep it under control, Kawasaki equipped it with an impressive electronic rider aids suite, including integrated riding modes, power modes, traction control, cornering ABS, and more. There’s even a launch control function.

We placed the Z H2 SE on our in-house Dynojet 250i dynamometer, recording horsepower and torque figures as part of our first ride review. The supercharged H2 ripped out an impressive 167.22 hp at 10,580 rpm and 87.60 pound-feet of torque at 8,560 rpm. Its steep, yet linear horsepower curve makes wicked-quick acceleration when ridden in aggression (good luck trying not to), but also provides a relatively smooth and gentle cruise in everyday scenarios.
