The St Lucia-based franchise is in fourth place with 6 points from 5 matches winning three losing two. They have broken the two-match losing streak and defeated St Kitts and Nevis Patriots by five wickets in the previous match. Bowling first the Kings were just around par to restrict Patriots to 173/5 despite fifties from Andre Fletcher Rilee Rossouw. Alzarri Joseph was the pick of the bowlers for St Lucia Kings with two wickets to his name while Noor Ahmad.
Roston Chase and Sadrack Descarte grabbed one wicket each. Half-centuries from Faf du Plessis and Johnson Charles set up the chase as the St Lucia Kings' openers added 115 runs in just 10.4 overs. Despite losing a few wickets in quick succession the hosts had the required run rate under control and managed to squeeze past the finishing line 17th over. On the other hand the Falcons are in fifth place with four points from seven matches winning the losing five.
With only three fixtures remaining for them this season they need to make sure as many wins as possible to climb the ladder. After managing to get to the winning track the Antigua & Barbuda-based franchise stumbled in the previous game bowling to Barbados Royals by 10 runs on the DLS method. Put into bat first the Chris Green-led side posted 176/5 in 20 overs courtesy of excellent half-centuries from Justin Greaves and Sam Billings.
They were heading to a big score but a cluster of wickets at the back end of the innings made them fall short that. Despite getting rid of dangerous Rahkeem Cornwall for a seven-ball duck the Falcons' bowlers failed to stop Quinton de Kock and Alick Athanaze as the duo went hard at the opponents. The two left-handed Royals' batters managed keep their side ahead of the DLS par score. When the rain had the final say in the contest Barbados Royals were at 127/3 in 14.3 overs and the Falcons were 10 runs behind in the DLS method. Iqbal Sports Live Commentary.
