Here's my video game composition Effervescent Flow! I'm Sab and I love saxophone and video games, so now I make covers that combine two of my favorite things!

I know it’s spooky time, but I did something chill instead! I tried writing 3 different whimsical, spooky themes, and none of them really stuck or spoke to me. And as I was trying to figure out what to write, I got a warning from my computer about low disk space. So I started cleaning my computer of old or completed projects, then came across an unfinished project from over a year ago. When I initially wrote it, I didn’t really care for it, since it felt like I was overdoing it. I kept trying to add layers that didn’t work for the tune. And after listening to an old draft, I felt inspired to pick it up again! I ran into the same issue at first, trying to add layers that just didn’t fit with everything in the piece already. I ended up only adding one new part, which was the vocals you hear in the tune!
I had strings originally in the piece, but opted to ditch them. I wanted the essence of the strings, so I tried adding a tremolo effect to mimic the sound of strings. I’ve never tried doing anything like that to my vocals and really liked how it sounded! It was just what I needed texturally for the piece!
When I got to the mixing stage, it was crazy to see how much has changed in the past year with how I mix! I used to be so timid with my mixes and keep everything pretty dry so things weren’t blending. It was so cool to see how much I’ve grown and what I’ve learned! I’ve become a lot more confident in my production skills and feel like it really shows!
As for the video, I wanted to do colored lights, but honestly forgot about it when I went to film. So I tried my best to convey the feeling of waves with wispy particles and cooler tones.
