Can a buckler strike to the face kill?
More than a couple of the people in my comment sections think not, more than a few of my HEMA and Buhurt friends say yes. How can we settle this evidently daft debate?

With janky science of course! In this case study I used my buckler to punch three watermelons and two coconuts to demonstrate the force applied and to model the potential dangers of full powered strikes in HEMA sparring as well as unarmoured combat in general.

This video seeks to provide a visual demonstration to those who seem to be harbouring doubts about the dangers of full contact fighting and why as HEMA practitioners we don't try to actively murder one another.

The cocktail I made is called a:
Smashed brains shield punch
Recipe:
The milk of three coconuts
The blended flesh of one water melon smashed with a buckler
As much Kraken spiced rum as will get the job done
Ice
Mix well served chilled.
