There are certain tests that can help diagnose Liver Cancer.
Initially, a sonography is performed.
Then, a CT scan is conducted to determine the number and type of the tumor.
A tumor marker test is done to determine the probable origin of the cancer.
If the tumor has appeared at an early age, doctors might recommend the Alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) marker test.
A PET scan is performed to determine the spread of the cancer.
A biopsy is taken for the final conclusive test.

For Hepatocellular cancer, surgery is recommended if the tumors are one or two and have not spread.
In other cases, Transarterial Radioembolization is recommended.
