This video explains the construction, working and circuit diagram of simple diy 12v dc to ac power inverter circuit which could be easily made at home in less than $ 10 . This project consist of two 1351 transistors which does switching action. Due to switching of transistors the dc voltage is always fluctuating which countinuosly changes the direction of magnetic field in primary of transformer which induces emf in secondary of transformer and due to step up action the voltage is stepped up to 110 volt to 240 volt which simply depends upon input voltage from the battery. A typical 12v battery will produce 220v AC to 230v AC at output similarly a 6 volt dc input will produce around 110v ac to 120 volt AC at output.
Alternatively one can use 880 transistors as well. Maximum power capacity of this inverter is 18 watt.
This is how one can convert 12vdc to 110vac / 120vac / 220vac / 230vac etc.
By choosing transformer of sutaible step up ratio one can even achieve intermediate voltages like 115v AC, 127v AC or 240v AC as required by electrical appliances.
