China has made significant progress in developing a green Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) over the past 10 years as it forges ahead with its own green transition. Recently a roundtable on BRI Green Development and the General Assembly of the BRI International Green Development Coalition (BRIGC) was held in Beijing to discuss the next phase of the greening of the BRI. In this edition of the Hub with Wang Guan, Erik Solheim, convener of the BRIGC and former under-secretary-general of the UN, and Marco Lambertini, co-chair of the BRIGC and special envoy of WWF, look at China's efforts to promote green and low-carbon development in developing nations. They note that China will continue to share its philosophy on green development and solutions and reduce the environmental impact of BRI projects. They insist on cooperation, especially with green technology transfers and exchanges.
