Do you remember?

"Do you remember?" It was the title of a video-installation that was installed for three years in the public space of Tehroon Café (Tehran, Iran). The layout, which consisted of 16 vintage tube TVs, played videos. These videos are based on parts of the collective memories of Iranians. For a while, the screened videos showed fragments of Iranian cinema. And after six month, the images displayed in this installation contained images of Iran's roads from North to South. Collective memories, whether related to reality or to dreams, are an integral part of Ali Ettehad's body of works. Individual memories, through the mind filter of each member of society, form thin layers of collective memories, decades by decades.
