Horse Powered Sweep

While in PA last week, we helped our friend Paul make adjustments to a horse powered sweep. The sweep is a turnstile that powers a thrasher via a belt to the thrasher's engine. The cage you see on top of the sweep in the first couple of images was removed the next day, as it was causing the gears to bind up. You will notice that in one segment, the horses started to take off - their momentum actually moved the sweep a foot or two from its original location. Eventually, four horses will power this sweep
