Zotac GTX 1070 amp extreme issue - no signal

Pretty weird issue. As soon as I boot up, no signal to the monitor. After about a minute the monitor turns on but still no signal al, only a black screen. To work around this, I have to reset the pc, then turn off and turn the back on to get it to boot properly. What's going on nvidia?
