Syrian soldiers in action

Harasta is located in the northeastern suburbs of Damascus. It continues to witness fighting between insurgents and government forces. Thousands of civilians ran away months ago from many of its neighborhoods fearing that they could be targeted by foreign backed militants. Some of them even left all their belongings behind them. The army is now pressing ahead with operations against militants who have occupyied parts of Harasta.
