Edoardo Agnelli, the unique son of Gianni Agnelli, the most powerful Italian industry and media giant, became a Muslim by studying the Quran during his university years. Four years later, as a result of hearing an anti-imperialism sentence from Dr. Ghadiri Abyaneh, press officer of the Iranian embassy in Italy, and being friendly with him, converted to Shiism. In March 1981, he met Imam Khomeini during a trip to Iran. Increasing pressure on Edoardo in order to change his Islamic beliefs or renounce his legal right as the inherit, did not work. Finally, his corpse was found under a bridge in 2000 and without any performed autopsy, suicide as the cause-of-death statements issued by his family.
