Why is the photon mass important?

The standard model of fundamental particles is based on massless photons. For this reason, it faces many problems and there are important questions that the standard model cannot answer. But the massless photon has no theoretical or experimental support. When we accept that photons have mass, the universe becomes more realistic and physics becomes easier to understand.
