Thatching - First Colony: Our Spanish Origins

Colonists in early Spanish Florida adopted the native Timucua practice of using palm thatch as a building material. This video shows a re-enactor at work, describing the process of thatching, and is part of the Florida Museum of Natural History's "First Colony: Our Spanish Origins" exhibition.
