Modified Jaw Thrust

An airway opening maneuver, used during resuscitative efforts when there is suspicion of cervical injury. The head is maintained in neutral alignment while the jaw is displaced forward at the mandibular angle: the rescuer places the tips of the fingers behind the angle of the jaw and, without moving the patient's neck, thrusts the jaw upward/forward, moving the jaw away from the back of the patient's head.
