The Debate - Welsh Independence Sentiment

The idea of a Welsh independence from the United Kingdom is high on the agenda ahead of this year's Welsh elections as new polls suggest support for independence is at an all time high. The idea of Wales going alone has traditionally been doubtful but since Brexit, public support for an independence vote has skyrocketed as the countrys biggest pro-independence party has pledged to secure a vote on independence within the next five years. Although support for independence is not near a majority view, Londons handling of the Coronavirus outbreak as well as Brexits effects on the Welsh economy are seen as the reasons for fueling independence sentiments there. With Scotland also pushing hard for leaving the UK, should there be real concerns now in Downing Street over the threat of a Kingdom breakup
