Complex CNC milling using a 5 axis machine

Here a complex wheel for motor sport testing is manufactured on one of the 5 Axis CNC milling machines at the Axis Precision Engineering workshop in Essex. The 1st operation required turning on one of our CNC Lathes to produce the basic profile. Then 5 axis milling is employed to machine all the bespoke details – such as machining the pockets to produce the spokes.
