Evaluation of cell behavior and its response to various chemical and mechanical stimuli on biological chips as an organ on a chip is one of the new technologies that has been widely used in the field of pharmaceutical sciences. Among the advantages of these systems are precise control of environmental conditions, reduction of user intervention, time and reagent volumes. Also, by using microfluidic systems in disease models, the physiological conditions of native tissues are simulated better than before. Dr Samiei is a postdoctoral fellow at the Centre for Research and Applications in Fluidic Technologies (CRAFT), Department of Mechanical Industrial Engineering, University of Toronto.
