The Lockheed C-5 Galaxy is a heavy military transport aircraft of the USAF designed by the US aircraft manufacturer Lockheed.
To replace old Douglas C-133 Cargomaster, the US Air Force in 1963 launched the CX-LHS program (Experimental Cargo-Heavy Logistics System).
