New swivel knife plus vegetable tanned leather and little bit of imagination to create a piece of artwork. Tooling and carving is a way to express yourself through your designs that you come up with and put onto leather. Most of the time when I am designing a tooling pattern I will draw my design on a piece of white printing paper so I can erase and redraw until the drawing looks the way I want it to then transfer the design onto wet and cased leather.
