Linux Command Line Tutorial For Beginners 21 - which and whatis command

whatis - display one-line manual page descriptions. Each manual page has a short description available within it. whatis searches the manual page names and displays the manual page descriptions of any name matched. which - shows the full path of (shell) commands. Which takes one or more arguments. For each of its arguments it prints to stdout the full path of the executables that would have been executed when this argument had been entered at the shell prompt.
