When the worker bees suddenly leave a hive, causing Colony Collapse Disorder, the hive cannot survive. Theories have connected CCD to pesticides, disease, or poor nutrition, but the real cause remains unknown. In 20142015, a substantial decline in CCD was reported; however, the issue of hive loss and an overall decline in pollinators is still a problem whether its happening due to CCD or another cause.
