PM Mikati rejects criticisms about deals with Iran

The Lebanese Prime Minister-designate has dismissed criticisms about Beiruts fuel deals with Iran. In an interview, Najib Mikati said he opposes anything that would harm his countrys interests. He called on opponents to provide help to Lebanon so it won't have to resort to Iranian oil. Critics argue that fuel imports from Iran risk incurring more sanctions on Lebanon currently gripped by a financial crisis. Hezbollah resistance movement says Iran has agreed to send Lebanon a third shipment of fuel to ease the countrys crippling energy shortages. Hezbollah has blamed the crisis on what it called an economic siege by the US.
