Purifying OTC Chemicals: Recrystallization

The second installment of my series on methods to purify OTC (over the counter, i.e. easily bought at local stores) reagents. Recrystallization is a technique used to purify solid reagents. The idea is very simple: just dissolve your chemical in a solvent (usually water), and let the solution evaporate slowly over a long period of time.
