Gaussmeter for Magnetic Fields

This Gaussmeter measures the polarity and the strength of magnetic fields. It uses a Hall Effect device ( Allegro 1301) and a 5V voltage regulator (7805) plus a variable resistor and an analog meter. I use the analog meter because it responds faster to chages in fields strength. The 1301 datasheet gives the calibration of the Hall Effect device 2mV per mT. My setup can measure up to 1250 mT or 12,500 Gauss, yet it allows me to detect weak magnetic fields.
